He was born on 22 February 1966 in Ogbor Uvuru, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, the ninth child of the late Mr Nehemiah Akagburuonye Amuchie and Mrs Monica Nwafor Akagburuonye.

Completed secondary education across Imo and Benue States before proceeding to Kogi State University, where he earned LL.B and LL.M degrees in Law. He also served as President of the university's Igbo Students Association.
Contributed to the landmark Court of Appeal decision in Obioma v. Nigeria, a case recognized for addressing prison overcrowding and bail conditions.

Through a series of residential and commercial developments, he has helped create thriving communities while contributing directly to economic growth and employment in the sector.
A lawyer of distinction, Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye has spent over a decade building a legal practice grounded in advocacy and institutional reform. Since his call to the Nigerian Bar in 2012, he has led O.S. Akagburuonye & Co. (Akara Ugo Chambers) in Abuja, providing legal and corporate advisory services to individuals, businesses, and institutions.
His most consequential legal contribution came through the Court of Appeal decision in Obioma v. Nigeria.
