Born on 22 February in Ogbor Uvuru, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State, as the ninth child of Nehemiah Akagburuonye Amuchie and Monica Nwafor Akagburuonye.

Completed secondary education across Imo and Benue States before proceeding to Kogi State University, where he earned LL.B and LL.M degrees in Law. He also served as President of the university's Igbo Students Association.

Contributed to the landmark Court of Appeal decision in Obioma v. Nigeria, a case recognized for addressing prison overcrowding and bail conditions.
